This Hope Journey event can be offered at any stage in the academic year.

(The word 'God' shown below has been made up from hundreds of pictures drawn by year 4 pupils in response to the question "What does God look like to you?". )

"Children are given the opportunity to create imaginative works of art using a variety of materials and methods to portray stories from the Bible and explore images of God."

Pupils are invited to respond to key themes and elements of a number of parables and stories from the Bible through various activities.

Individuals will have the opportunity to engage with the following Bible stories:

  • Jesus calms the storm
  • Jesus feeds 5,000 men
 And the following parables:

  • The Good Samaritan
  • The Sower
  • The Wise and Foolish Builders

Pupils will be able to respond through Artistic interpretation, Completive reflection, Dance, Drama, Music and Poetry.

In one of the workshops children may be asked to create something that represents God or Jesus and what they may look like to that individual. One child created the above from salt dough. When asked to explain their creation the pupils said:
"It's a lamp post. They're everywhere and they light up the world...just like Jesus!"
