Frequently asked questions by schools

    Is there a charge for us to attend a Hope Journey event?
    On the whole, The Hope Journey is offered to schools for free.
    On occasions there will be a charge of £1 per child for some of our larger events.
    You will be notified accordingly by your event organiser 

    How long will the visit last?
    Most visits last from one and a half to two hours.
    Usually the morning session will start at 9.30 with a view to finish by 11.30 while afternoon session on the whole start at 1.15 or 1.30 and finish two hours later. 

    What do schools need to provide for their visit?
    Schools on a regular basis will be required to provide:
    • The number of children attending
    • Adults to accompany the group on a ratio of 1: 10 where ever possible
    • A name sticker per child
    Schools occasionally will be required to provide £1 per child to cover costs.

     Are all of your volunteers CRB checked and do you have a safeguarding policy?

    The Hope Journey is committed to the safeguarding and well-being of all of our volunteers and schools. 
    We adhere to the safeguarding policies and best practice of the Methodist Church and we aim for all of our volunteers to have an enhanced CRB disclosure. 

    Do you have risk assessment forms?
    Some churches will have completed risk assessments for their buildings. If you would like to carry out your own assessment prior to your visit please contact the church concerned who will be only to pleased to help.
